Phoenix at 2 Months

Per her 2 month check up, Phoenix is getting plenty to eat. She now weighs 11 lbs 9 oz (65th percentile) and measures 23 1/4 inches long (79th percentile). She's a real sweetie--she smiles easily, coos often, and loves being free during air out time.

All decked out in one of her 3-6 month outfits. When she's awake, she's very bright-eyed!

Fisher enjoying some popcorn by the fire. He loves such simple joys.

Eyes wide open.

One of our many attempts at a family photo. Fisher kept getting up to retrieve the camera while it was still shooting the pic, and Neko kept walking in front of the camera. This is the best pic so far.

The easiest way to get Phoenix to take a long nap: put her in her coat and set her in the bouncy seat. She'll sleep for 3 hours like this!

Fisher was so excited to see santa, though he didn't crack a smile the whole time we were there. I think he was in awe. He kept saying "ho, ho, ho" and "to all a good night", but he never did tell him what he wanted in his stocking (aside from lollipops and a toy). Note: we were told by the guy running the operations that this wasn't the regular santa, but an undercover police officer. So Green Bay.

Thanksgiving Weekend

With his new demon hat, Fisher is extra crazy. Unfortunately, Phoenix seems to approve.
One morning he unraveled an entire roll of toilet paper and stashed it in the toilet. Thankfully he didn't try to flush it.

Derek had 5 glorious days off of work over the holiday, so he spent a lot of time doing this.

I whipped up a feast for the 3 of us. After eating for a bit Fisher pushed his chair away from the table and said "mama, tummy hurts." He was so excited for the "big turkey" and insisted on helping prepare the meal.

Phoenix napped through the entire meal, but woke up happy.

Derek giving her her first bottle.

More cuddle time with the kids.

My turn.

She's getting better at napping after Derek discovered the trick with swaddling. She still manages to free her hands though.

The Saturday after Thanksgiving we headed to a Christmas tree farm to cut a tree down for the first time ever.

Fisher had a ball trying to pick out a tree.

Here's the one we chose...

And here it is ready to haul home.

Phoenix is smiling and talking more than ever now. She's apparently excited to watch Fisher decorate the tree (since she slept the whole time we were out cutting it down).

Fisher was super stoked about decorating the tree and I've even caught him talking to it ("hi Christmas tree, me dance downstairs.")

He doesn't quite get the concept that the ornaments need to stay put.

Showing off the decorated tree.

It is ridiculous to try to get a family shot. Phoenix wasn't too happy about sitting there.

Checking on his ornaments, again.

Brother and sister. She really seems to enjoy his antics.

Phoenix at 1 Month

Check her out! She's getting cuter and chubbier by the minute. As of her 1st month check up she weighs 9 lbs 8 oz (53rd percentile) and is 22.5 inches long (85th percentile)--a 2 lb and 2 inch gain. She's long and lean like her brother and I think she has a thing for 2s: she was born in room 222 at 2:44 with a double rainbow in the sky. She's still pretty good at night and usually gets up just twice, though we've definitely had our share of long nights! We're getting there...

Getting ready to go out for dinner, which is still fairly easy to do since she usually sleeps whenever she's in her car seat.

Us girls.

Derek's mom and sister Kelly came up last weekend to meet Phoenix.

And of course hang with Fisher.

Phoenix and aunt Kelly.

Phoenix and grandma.

She slept through most of the visit.

Another family shot. It feels great to be a family of 4.

She's starting to smile and coo now (when she's not sleeping, or crying, or pooping)!

Fisher is all ready for winter. I can hardly get him to take off his boots.

Halloween and Home with Phoenix

The cutest pirate I've ever seen. He was so excited to go trick-or-treating. For weeks he'd been saying "be pirate, ring door-bell, trick-or-treat, get candy!"
Fisher is greeted by one of the neighbor's dogs.

We started trick-or-treating at some friends' houses. First stop was Kevin and Sue's.

Then he got a lollipop at Andy and Crystal's.

Hanging with some neighbor kids.

More trick-or-treating goodies.

Heading home with the pumpkin head loaded with candy.

Chilling with his sister.

Wearing their spooky shirts.

Checking out his haul.

One of the few pics of Phoenix with her eyes open.

Mostly she's sleeping, though that's changing now that we're into the 3rd week. I've been pretty lucky as she rarely wakes up more than twice at night.

Check out those lips and pointy chin.

She really is a beautiful, and so far a good baby.

Carving pumpkins.

Inspecting the guts.

Fisher is such a good sport even when his sister is fussy.

Yet another sleeping beauty pic. I can't believe how much she looks like Fisher did as an infant.

All scrunched up with D.

He's such a sweet brother. I think these two will have a lot of fun together.

Derek enjoying the little time he gets with Phoenix. When he's home he's usually playing with Fisher or waiting for me to finish nursing.

It is so much harder to get up and going in the morning now. We spend a lot of time in our jammies.

Derek with to the Packers/Vikings game a few weekends ago and because he went with the mayor he got to go on the field during warm up time. It was the loudest Lambeau has ever been--I could hear the screaming even at our house.

Watching Farve warm up.
