Phoenix at 3 Months, Fisher in the hospital

Here she is at 3 months, cuter and more active every day. She started sleeping all the way through the night a few days ago (7pm to 7am), which is pretty sweet. When she's awake, she's either smiling, laughing, cooing, or watching her brother's antics.

Here we are at the hospital reading about Curious George's trip to the hospital. Fisher had to have an MRI last week so the doctors could diagnose the lump near his eye with certainty (they've been waffling on whether it's a cyst, hemangeoma birthmark, or something else). The result is good: it's a birthmark which should go down by itself in a few years. So no surgery needed!

We had to get there early in the morning so they could numb his hands and then start the IV (since they had to put him under for the MRI). The nurses performed all the same actions on the bear as Fisher, which really seemed to make it easier for him. The blue bandages are to conceal the numbing cream, which worked because he didn't feel the IV at all until he looked over and saw it.

He woke up soon after the MRI was over (luckily no bad reactions to the propofol used to put him to sleep), and here the nurse is taking out the IV. Derek and I were able to breathe easy again. It was harder on us than it was on him!

And then he got to enjoy some breakfast and get back to goofing around.

Phoenix loves airplane rides.

Fisher's turn.

And she's starting to enjoy tummy time more now. She actually started rolling already, but she only does it when we let her go naked. She doesn't roll every time as she seems more interested in trying to crawl. This girl wants to move! She can already bring her knees up and does a decent job of pushing herself along.

All smiles!

Bright-eyed and sitting up in the bumbo. Absolutely every person that meets her mentions how alert and bright-eyed she is.

Lounging over the weekend.

She flies!
I love this shot of Phoenix--it looks like she's saying "you talkin' to me?" Here she is with Jessica, who came up with Kristina last weekend to meet Phoenix and take me out dancing!

And here she is with Kristina.

Fisher was attached to the hip of Ryan, who drove Kristina and Jess. They were total buds!

Fisher trying out Jessica's high-heeled boots. He put them on and started dancing around, and rather well I might add.

We spend a lot of our evenings listening to music and playing on the floor. Fisher usually wedges himself between D and Phoenix.

Our for sale sign is in the yard now! If you know of anyone in the GB area looking for a house, send them our way. We're moving to Iowa in March as Derek was offered a job working for the state. Yee-haw!

Christmas 2010

We headed to Iowa for 5 days over Christmas, but before we left Andy and Crystal came over and we made cookies for Santa.
More frosting went in Fisher's mouth than on the cookies.

Phoenix watching her brother's sugar overload.

It snowed, so Fisher went sledding with some cousins. Here's Cooper trying to drag Fisher up the hill.

Heading down with D and Payton.
This kid was overwhelmed with all the action so one day he took a nap with Papa. He slept for 13 hours straight when we got back home.

Aunt Carrie, Payton, and Zoey meet Phoenix for the first time.

Thumbs up, whilst sporting Papa's do-rag.

Aunt Ashley meets Phoenix.

Santa left presents on Christmas morning at Nana and Papa's.

The most exciting thing in the stocking was a bag of lollipops!

Phoenix's first Christmas morning.

Fisher couldn't get enough of checking out the chimney, where "Santa dropped down."

A family shot.

The whole lot of us (nana, papa, aunt Carrie, Uncle Bryan, and cousins).

Aunt Carrie was pretty proud of the fact that she was one of the few
who could get Phoenix to fall asleep.
Fisher and Phoenix with cousins on my side...

And then on Derek's side.

Fisher with his guitar from Grandma Brenda. We sit around most nights now and pretend we can sing and play guitar.

Derek with his sisters.

Aunt Mandy meets Phoenix.

Saying good-bye to Grandpa Bob. She looks a little grumpy because by this point she was just tired of being held. She slept all through the night when we got back home, but that only lasted one night. We're back to getting up twice for feedings!

The weather was more mild when we returned, which made for perfect snow to make a snowperson. Fisher had been asking to make Frosty ever since the snow fell, so he was thrilled.

Showing off their hard work. The carrot nose didn't last long as Fisher ate half of it and then Neko ate the other half.

Trying out tummy time, which Phoenix doesn't really enjoy.
