Fisher live!

Fisher's latest trick: tensing up so that his whole body trembles. Usually he has his right hand open and his left closed in a fist.

Camping Trip

We went on a camping trip at Peninsula State Park in Door Co. last weekend. It'll probably be a while before we go camping again (how do you explain to an 11 month old that you can't stick your hand in the fire, or eat rocks, or crawl through poison ivy, or crawl off into the woods or the water...). But, I'm glad we went, and I think Fisher had a great time.
Look at those gorgeous blues. Everywhere we go at least one person comments about how perfectly blue and striking his eyes are. One of our waitresses in Door Co. said his eyes were "killer".
Trying out some new faces--this is one of his latest favorites.

We made a stop at the beach.

This boy loves the water.

Daddy buried his legs...

and he loved it.

At least this kept him out of trouble for a little bit.

Turn around Fisher, we can't go crawling off into the water.

He really loved sleeping in the tent.

I wasn't sure he'd ever fall asleep since he equated tent time with party time.

And he's off, headed to the water again.

Look out tower.

We had our annual block party the evening we got back from camping. Fisher's kicking it in the walker.

So the two of us have taken daily field trips all summer--swimming, animal sanctuary, bay beach amusement park, etc. His favorite place though is the animal sanctuary, where we feed the ducks and the geese. As soon as he sees an animal of any sort he points and starts talking to it. We call him the animal whisperer.

I put some corn on his stroller so he could get a close view of the geese.

And then a goose bit his hand! It didn't hurt, but it scared him. He was all good within a minute.

Oh Canada

We drove up to the Witzenburg's cabin on Pancake Bay in Canada last weekend. Such a beautiful place--Fisher fit right in. Good food and conversation as always!
Derek and Fisher looking down from the loft where we slept.

Kathy rocking Fisher (he decided to fall asleep just before we were leaving).

Fisher's favorite toys: a stick and a rock. He's a little naturalist.

Fisher banging rocks while I fly a kite.

You'll probably see this shot on our Christmas card this year!

More kite action.

The bucket and sand play lasted for a little bit--and then he spied the rocks...and sticks.

Jon saying good morning to Fisher.

Enjoying the sun on the rocks.

The two of us (with Sasha's head).

Watching the sunset over Lake Superior.

Bath time in the cabin.

Outside the cabin.

We went for a hike on an old (unused) highway. The dogs loved it.

Lunch grin.

Stretching our legs on the drive home. All he wants to do is walk around with our help, so it was a bit of a challenge to keep him happy during the drive home.

We checked out a local winery/trout hatchery. They let Fisher feed the fish.

Taking in the fish action.

So he crawled all the way to the top of the stairs the other day while I was typing an email for work. One minute he was at my side and then next he was upstairs! Now all he wants to do (besides play with sticks and walk) is crawl up the stairs.

Flirting.

Chilling on the couch.

Playing dress up (he thinks it's funny to play with his old pacifier).

Derek met us for a picnic at the weekly summer in the park concert series in town.

He also loves pointing these days. Imagine he's pointing at you and saying that he hopes he sees you soon.
