As usual, it's been a busy month here. We still haven't found a house we like, but we've been having lots of fun with visitors and excursions.

Fisher loves cuddling with his sister.

One of Phoenix's first solid meals! The first time we started solids she did a face dive towards the spoon, as if she'd been watching the process all these months with those bright eyes just waiting for her turn.

She's a good eater! At 7 months she weighs almost 18 lbs and is 26.5 inches long. Within 2 weeks time she sprouted two teeth, starting sitting up, and started solids.

This is what we do every morning while Derek gets ready for work.

And now she sits up unaided! This was her first
day of sitting up and you could tell she was tickled.

She also spends a lot more time on her tummy working those arm and back muscles, and then taking much needed breaks like this.

Yep, he is a stinker.

Now that she sits up she can sit in high chairs. Her first time here at Fong's pizza.

Our good friends from GB, Andy and Crystal, came down for a visit. We showed them a good time. Here we are at Fong's wearing the special helmets for our kamikaze shots.

We had a late night and unfortunately weren't as chipper as Phoenix here at the Farmer's Market the next morning.

We did a lot of eating, braving the heat and the crowds, and then let Fisher ride this tractor/train get up before we left.

That evening we went to the horse race track.

Fisher enjoying the horse races and some Andy and Crystal time. He almost started crying when they first arrived as he was overwhelmed with emotion.

Phoenix always good for a funny pic.

On Mother's Day Fisher told me to get in his bed and then he proceeded to grab a bowl from the kitchen and fill it with cereal and raisins. He brought me the bowl and exclaimed "Happy Mother's Day! Snacks in bed!" This was completely unprovoked by Derek...no idea where he learned this. It was probably the best gift I will ever receive.

After snacks in bed we hiked around a lake and then took in an I-Cubs baseball game. Phoenix was a fan.

Fisher helping his sister drink out of a cup.

He's become pretty good at riding his tricycle. He rides it through the hallways of the apartment building, prompting neighbors to recite the Shining.

Still getting this balance thing figured out.

Fisher usually tugs on his left ear when he sucks his thumb, but sometimes he borrows his sister's ear.

A Neko hug.
She can push herself up pretty far these days. Next up, crawling...
