Spring 2012

Decorating Easter eggs (yep, it's been that long since I posted)
 I love her surprised face.
Hunting for eggs in the back yard.
 Then again at grandma's.
 This boy loves his candy.
Phoenix wasn't too happy that she didn't have a turn with Fisher's easter kite yet.
 Kite action.
Stopped at a cafe after checking out Neil Smith Prairie. This is one of her commonest facial expressions of late.
Tuckered out from the prairie and holding hands. They do this quite often.
This girl could light up a black hole.
 And so could he.
Taking a break from our walk.
These two get along famously most of the time.
 Good old fashioned daddy time.
 Icee pop break.
Taking a walk after meeting D at work and taking him on a picnic.
Dakota, Audrey, and their son Miles came to Iowa for a visit. It was our first time meeting him and from the looks of it he didn't know what to think of Fisher.
 Sharing Big Johnny's lap.
Out and about after the kids went to bed.
Of course Fisher had to take Miles for a spin.
Phoenix has grown quite attached to her blanket and nuk. She grabs the blanket every morning when we get her out of her crib.
Then she snuggles up on the floor.
To my horror, she's been climbing the ladder on the play set for a few months now.
She loves to give her big bro a good squeeze.
On Fisher's last day of preschool Phoenix and I visited for play time
 and ice cream sundaes.
 Bubbles soon followed.
Lots of warm, southern wind that day.
Then we went to an I-Cubs baseball game, where they cooled off in the splash pad area.
I'm not sure they knew there was a game going on behind them.
The only thing Phoenix is apprehensive about is a sprinkler.
An interesting new take on eating a hot dog.
Chilling with Grandma Brenda and Aunt Kelly (all to celebrate Grandpa Greg's birthday).
Before we left the kids went on a ride and played some games.
Young slugger. She whacked the ball high on her first attempt. Since her favorite toy has always been a ball I'm convinced she's going to be a softball player.
That evening we had dinner at El Patio where Phoenix, as usual, stole the show.
 Cheese!
Over Memorial weekend Fisher went fishing with Papa.
Got one. When you ask how big it was he says it was the size of his leg.
 Never share drinks with Phoenix.
All gussied up at a wedding.
My dear old friend Mary was in town with her kids so we met up at the downtown fountain for swimming and a picnic.
Henry, Fisher, Phoenix, and Nora. It was like they had play dates all the time.
She's quite pleased with herself now that she can put on her shoes by herself.
From the bed to the couch. We're awfully slow to move in the morning.
Our stone finally arrived, so Derek spent the last weekend with the back breaking work of installing the first of 3 planter boxes.

Yesterday the kids and I headed to a berry farm to pick strawberries.
Fisher has a good eye for the honey holes of strawberries. We hauled home over 10 pounds! Perhaps a little too ambitious...
Phoenix spent the whole time eating and tossing strawberries, taking a crap, sitting on top of the plants, refusing to walk, and then flashing the field.
More proof that they love each other as proof and insurance for when they are older.
