Phoenix really has a thing for cats. This is Nubs, grandma and grandpa's tailless cat.
Opening gifts at Nana and Papa's. It was a bit overwhelming for her and she didn't crack a smile once.
Just after Santa stopped by our house on Christmas Eve.
He left Fisher the "big truck" he asked for! It was all he wanted and he was insistent. Just a big truck to haul stuff in the back and drive around and bash into things (his words). Of course he had to pick one of the toys that Derek and I said we never wanted our kids to have!
Santa left Phoenix a piano.
He wouldn't leave the truck's side all morning.
Finally he got to take it for a spin when it warmed up a bit outside.
Proud. When he tore off the blankets that were covering the truck he pretended to read a note from Santa (it was really the warning sticker on the back). He claimed it said "Dear Fisher, you were a good boy and you listened to your mama and daddy and were good to baby Phoenix. Merry Christmas."
Happy New Years! We celebrated at noon with a balloon drop at the science center.
Fisher told me I had great ideas after I tied our Christmas tree to the back of his truck so he could haul it around.
I'm not sure who loves the truck more. Phoenix is pretty wild about it. This may be the best picture of the two of them ever. Cool and thoughtful Fisher and crazy/spunky Phoenix.
Crazy winter weather here. We had temps in the upper 60s and even a few 70s. Never thought the kids and I would have a picnic in January, but here we are.
She insists on a snack and then she dumps most of it out when I'm not looking. Real funny.
These two are always up to something, and they getting along remarkably well most of the time.
Celebrating at Nana and Papa's 40th wedding anniversary party.
Phoenix all partied out and ready to go home.
Fisher pleased as punch to go bowling for the first time.
Phoenix just as pleased to be sucking down her first ever soda (sprite).
She discovered the blower.
And so did he.
Finally, a snow day.
Good news for us: he loves to shovel.
Phoenix has perfected the scowl.
Finally had a chance to go sledding...
and what winter would be complete without a snow person? If only the dog would stop eating the carrot nose.
Her hair is getting long all of the sudden so we tried out her first ever up-do. I have much to learn.
Isaac (Jerad and Kate's baby) came to visit.
Poor babe broke her leg! We were in the play area at the mall and an older kid put Phoenix on her lap to go down a little kiddie slide. Phoenix's leg got twisted under the other girl's leg as they went down. We took her to the doctor and they did x-rays and said it was just a bad sprain, but after two weeks of watching her limp and wince in pain we brought her back. They discovered the fracture in her tibia with a second set of x-rays. Two kids, two broken legs from slides! Crazy.
As far as casts go, hers was pretty cute: purple with sparkles.
She was fine during the whole casting, but once we got home and she tried to walk she was put out. She did learn to walk with it after a day though and the cast came off two weeks later.
Waking up from a nap.
We visited daddy at work one day.
Taking a break from our hike on another unseasonably warm day.
Nothing gets in the way of this girl.
Love fest.

What a great update. Fisher's "big truck" from Santa is pretty awesome. I have a feeling Miles will want to take a ride when we come visit this Spring. Can't wait to see you all!
